When the Gods didn’t smile on us

I recently discovered on YouTube the MotD episode featuring the 1983 relegation match against Luton. Watching it made me feel sick knowing what was coming, but we really never should have lost that day. We had many more chances than they did.

Valentines day 1998. City 0 Bury 1

I missed it - got dragged to Luther Van Dross gig at the Arena.
But from what I hear we battered them from start to finish.
My pals said that Jason Van Blerk put in the sort of performance that only he could that day

When Owen scored in the 8th minute of 5 minutes of injury time at the swamp.

When David White somehow miss hit a sitter right in front of the goal (and us) at the swamp and we ended up drawing 1-1. Half of us were already starting manic celebrations and couldn't believe the net didn't bulge.

When Rooney shinned it at the swamp and it keeps getting repeated ad nauseum.

Fu#king hate the swamp!!
