So many players / pundits DO NOT UNDERSTAND the current interpretation of the offside rule. Shearer, Cahill and Liniker ALL showed themselves up tonight on MOTD:
Here is the rule:
http://www.thefa.com/football-rules-governance/lawsandrules/laws/football-11-11/law-11---offside

The offside rule was changed when VAR was introduced on the continent such that offside is measured when the ball is first touched in the passing movement. No longer when the ball leaves the players boot head or chest.

It's their job FFS and they dont know the rules!!!!

Same old gave us 30 seconds of faint praise then it was all about the lack of Watford players effort and terrible defending didn’t expect anything else

They just overlook the movement off the ball, passing and vision that can make even the best sides look like they aren't trying or doing their jobs. Take Spur's classed as one of the top sides in the division. It is no exaggeration to say we could easily have scored at least six against them. We didn't and conceded the only two chances they had. That's football. Are spur's collectively better than Watford? Yes, but we also ran rings around them, they just got lucky.

Shearer looking right pissed off, happy to see it the sour faced Fu**er.
City just bettered Aberdare athletic famous beating of Watford in 1926 and not a mention.

Yet another amazing performance. Yet again motd don’t focus on any of our key players.

Every time the dippers, rags etc play well there is recognition of a special performer. This is the stuff that influences awards. But they’ll all shrug their shoulders and say they don’t understand why our players don’t get recognised as if they had nothing to do with it.
