Hacking data from an organisation is a criminal offence even if you don't gain financially. The person who was accused of this has since been promoted by Liverpool FC to Sporting Director. City will have agreed a legal settlement purely for expediency and £1m is a decent pay-out. However the question which needs to be asked now is how widespread is this practice at Liverpool FC? Why has no internal action been taken by LFC against the criminal activity of their staff? This happened when both clubs were going neck and neck for the title in 2013/14. Surely the Premier League must conduct its own investigation as they did when they sanctioned Leeds United. How many other clubs have been hacked by Liverpool?
