United thread 2019/20

Money is becoming something of an irrelevance in football now due to the sheer amount of it everybody has. on current trajectory United can realistically buy their way back to the top for around another 5 years, after that, having the most money will be largely meaningless. it’ll likely always remain possible for them to do it but the investment needed and the quality of their recruitment needed, something they’ve got catastrophicly wrong recently all increases massively for every year they swim in mediocrity.

United’s main problem is that there’s already kids out there now that haven’t seen United win anything significant, another few years and they’ll be teenagers looking for their first professional contract, United Don’t have the allure they once had to those kids, they’re nothing special to them, they’re just a team lot of tourist visits, kids won’t want to sign for them and nobody will want to support them, it’s not even as if they play decent football, it’s turgid Sunday league kick and rush tactics that is a waste of time watching.

They’re not going to lose all their fans overnight, they’ve certainly lost some and will continue to lose more as seen in their cup attendances but the fabled glory hunter from Singapore that changes his team every year depending on who’s winning doesn’t really exist, at least not in any significant numbers, people tend to stick with their choices. the one place it will hurt them is with new fans, kids are growing up watching city dominate the league over the last decade with Chelsea and Liverpool as side acts, United are nowhere to be seen. sadly, it will take decades for their numbers to dwindle though.

Just to expand on the above post. Here in SE Asia the majority of "fans" are Liverpool followers, second is Utd. As NM states it is the young fans that are being attracted to City, I see many young kids now wearing City shirts, much more than 7 years ago. Unfortunately it will take an extended time at the top to maintain the interest and wish to be a City "fan". I don't really see City being a dominant force in this part of the world, China is another story altogether. I see that market is the one that City should be chasing.

There time is over, they were too arrogant to think that it will never end and made no plans because they could see no one challenging them until little ole City came along and even then they were so arrogant, red nose saying not in his lifetime well smell the coffee because it’s happened and now they are playing catch up but 10years to late. Fuck em

They're not even playing catch up... they're falling further away from us with every passing week!

If you are ever having a bad day, just remember someone did this:

Dear God! Reminds me of half the dick-heads I had to work with 20 years ago.
There was one rag who had his daughter's name tattooed on his forearm in Olde English lettering and had it misspelled. Can't remember the girl's name, but it was probably something hard to spell, like Paula, Erica or Alexa.
Tit.
