The hard answer to the climate crisis

Not having any more children doesn't solve the problem unless we stop big business from importing more from other continents, big business needs bodies to make and move stuff and westerners not having children means they will just be replaced with non westerners.

Cut back on animal food production. Replant billions of trees, clean up the oceans and stop polluting them. Manage population growth in countries who can’t sustain it, improve education, stop big business doing what they want for a quick buck and move more quickly to renewable energies. Economic growth needs to be in areas that doesn’t ruin the planet. Of course none of that will be done until it’s too late.

It’s not straws.

Simply put we’re overpopulated. Too many mouths to feed.

So...if you were told you had to adhere to a single child policy for the next 20 years to save the planet, how would you feel?

Simply put we are not, 30-40% of all food produced is wasted.

What we don't do is manage our resources and distribution of properlyglobally.
We also don't educate enough on food waste and enviromentally better eating practices and have fostered a fast food, eat ready meals mindset.
We also live in societies where profit comes first.
We also live in societies where we work ourselves to death and don't take tme for the finer things like a nice balanced healthy meal.

We don't need vast food production like we see killing off the amazon, but we have it because i's profitable, feed a fast paced consumerist society, while other parts of the world starve.

Until we work as one species and one planet not squabling nations we will never solve our problems.
