A truly superb player in his prime, no one ever pushed him off the ball. Deserves to be mentioned as one of our greats. Couldn’t give a fuck about any off field issues.

He was an incredible player for us and he was instrumental in taking us up several levels. He scored lots of important goals for us but for me his absolute best was the one against Sunderland in the League Cup Final. We were losing and looking so flat that day and when he struck the ball (I was right in line with him) I groaned as it looked like another aimless effort going out for a goal kick. When it went in I went absolutely berserk.
The atmosphere went from zero to bedlam instantly.
Flawed as an individual but an amazing signing for us.

He'll be remembered for the spoilt brat he was, the parting shot at Pep suggesting he was a racist was the final straw for me. Talented no doubt but a horrible sly stain of a man.

Sorely missed, he was a giant in midfield and when he landed at our club he dominated the midfield area in the premier league and made it look easy. No-one could could force him off the ball such was his strength and he had ability to boot
