In September I was over from Chicago, staying until the first week of October, and on my last trip into Manchester I popped in to renew my library card at the John Rylands, and to my horror discovered that god's gift to kebabs, Abduls, had gone - and in its place was some sweaty chicken.
Fucking hell - is nothing sacred???
Upon further examination I found this:

I ask you all, isn't a little extra (albeit) unexpected protein a small price to pay to enjoy the best chicken kebabs in the galaxy?
I've not yet been to the Abduls on Wilmslow Road, although will be making my pilgrimage shortly (I'll be back in Manchester next month) hoping it'll measure up in some way to the memories I used to relive of my times spent on Oxford Road, when I was only a short walk to Maine Road and a stone's throw from heavenly nirvana in a folded up naan with an orange substance seeping out from one corner of a tightly wrapped off-white plain paper parcel, and a tin of something from the off license a few shops past Barclays.
Abduls by the Toblerones, RIP
