Etihad Campus, Stadium and Collar Site Development Thread

Forgot the public consultation was on Today.

Will nip down tomorrow. Hopefully there will be some other images on view? ;-) Will ask a few questions.
If the word "consultation" means the same as it did in Moston when Pallet Park was in the planning process, then substitute the word "consultation" for this short paragraph.

"This is the done deal in your area we would like to inform you about. Any comments you have will be noted.... and then ignored. Thank you."

A flat roof?

Good luck getting that passed!

My eight-year-old daughter could have come up with something better!

be very surprised if it’s a flat roof - although the drawings give that impression. So much ducting and air conditioning equipment to hide in the roof space.

Aye, not sure if it's going to look anything close to that sketch, but you never know.
The humble Eccles cake would make a decent arena design...no need to design up - it's there already for you, just the engineering to finger.
You also have a nickname for it already (a la Gherkin).
Three lines representing the three rivers and giving that slightly dome shaped roof. I should've been an architect.

strange comment in the comments section of that site.
Lol, he(?) has been back since:-

People in the area don’t want this, they didn’t want the Stadium for the Commonwealth games, it’s made life hell.

The area is more deprived than ever, there’s more trouble now, there has been no investment other than the stadium which is an eyesore and hardly used, no locals have been given jobs as it doesn’t bring employers to the area, house prices have increased everywhere, not just here..

What a bundle of joy he must be.
