Do we now need to break our salary cap.

The preferable method would be to incentivise his contract as at least the rise will then equate to both the club and the individual achieving goals which will result in a benefit to City.

Case in point being Sanchez. Nobody saw such a fall in grace and a 3/4 year contract is a long time in football and once you give that contract there is no getting rid of them.

Never pay over the odds, it spreads to other players and leads to disharmony In the dressing room, and to be honest this season's performances from sterling it's a no from me

if City overtake Man Utd financially it makes sense to raise our wage cap and transfer spend.

What' is the point of having a competitive footballing advantage unless you use it? Man Utd deliberately drove wages and transfer fees up to a level where they had no competition.

The strategy of over-paying is logical - providing of course you identify the correct targets.

The problem is Liverpool. They will overtake Utd too, and probably City if they are successful.
Do you actually think that Liverpool will overtake United financially if we do? It has been clear for a while that our owners have a overtake united financially and footballing wise strategy which may happen but to me Liverpool seem more obsessed with league and champion league win tallies.

We have to pay similar rates to other top clubs. No real loyalty in football - albeit we should be PROUD of the fact that many of our players have been with us for a considerable length of time - despite our supposed wage structure

Time to up the ante with the next round of reviews to keep the best & and attract the next batch of super players. But - we have to continue to be very selective (unlike the rags)

You think Aguero and Silva have lived in Manchester for almost a decade on the same/less money than they could get at Barcelona and Real?

As we renew key players contracts the bar will inevitably rise, the key is keeping it in check and not hand out a contract that’s going to force you to up every other one like United and Arsenal do. Our wage structure isn’t something unique or special, we pay big money on a par with anybody else bar the stupid but we do it in a sensible way this won’t change whilst the people running the club remain here.
