The hard answer to the climate crisis

Yeah I'm pretty hardcore on this. You should need to pass a credit check to add another one to the population, then show you are fit for purpose.

Too many people who have nothing to add squirting them out by the dozen. Cull the herd and several problems would be resolved.
That response seems rather thoughtless and ingenious. The forum topic is 'climate crisis'.

With regard to world resources, the poorer and often larger sector of the population of the world (or the herd, 'being fit for purpose', or 'having nothing to add' as people condescendingly put it) actually use far less of the earth's resources (think carbon footprint, air travel, 2 vehicle families. big corporation wastage etc etc.) than the smaller, often more educated nuclear families. There are many many per capita studies on carbon footprint that prove this point. It may serve you well to read them. The over-populated, and often less educated residents of Africa, Liberia, Zimbabwe et al DO NOT use more of the earths resources than the smaller, wealthier countries or families.

The problem is you'd need to break away from the current model of growth>interest on debt=good at the same time and unless we find another Keynes that means we'd be in for a decades long recession (which I'd have no opposition to, but try to sell it to the average voter).

Exactly. We need to start the cull with the ultra rich that send private planes off to pick up favourite outfits.

Who specified Africa though? There’s too many mouths...everywhere. Feeding them is clearly detrimental to the planet.

To really dumb this down, look at China.

Single family policy. No one liked it, but a consequence of it has been that the children have consolidated wealth, as opposed to it being spread over several kids.

Less mouths, more money and that allows those the freedom to make better choices.

Right now the lower class in Europe don’t have the luxury of checking how geo friendly their food and clothes are.
