I don’t understand what is going on with Stones. With his ability he should be one of the top half dozen centre backs in the world but he has actually regressed. I don’t know if it’s the all the injuries he has suffered or his personal life but he looks short of confidence.

He is and always has been a confidence player. He needs to play every week to get the best out of him. His injuries and Pep's love of rotation means we never get the best out of him. That period where he played every week next to Laporte he was class.
