Do the fans give Pep and his team enough respect?

Bang on the money. Mancini never fucking mentioned the rags or the dippers let alone spoke about them in such glowing terms as Pep does. He deliberately showed them a lack of respect. Of course none of that matters in the wider picture - all that counts is winning matches - but maybe it explains why many blues of a certain age love Mancini like a brother and always will yet don’t feel the same love for Pep despite his greater success. Roberto was one of us, often it doesn’t feel like Pep is
Mancini had to build that hatred back up when he arrived as we were starting to climb the table again. It was our siege mentality that won us that first prem and it was the team spirit and mentality he built that tore down that banner at the swamp the year before. Mancini fired up the team just as we needed it to cross that boundary of top 4 challengers to title winners.

Pep is different in the sense of he is very diplomatic and is always respectful, Mancini didn't give a toss about the rags and he made sure the team felt the same way. Would Pep have exploded on the sidelines with ferguson like Mancini? I don't think so.

Now though, we have well and truly toppled the rags as the power within the league. If they ever get back to challenging us again (Pep won't be here if they ever do) then perhaps the old fires will be rekindled and we will have that battle again but at the minute there is no need for Pep to do any slagging off in press conferences, his team do the talking on the pitch.

Just regarding the respect thing, I dont like it when people leave early or arrive late but that is up to them. Doesn't affect my own personal time at the game.

I would love the ground to be like what it was for the liverpool game last year but can you really expect the crowd to be rocking for an early kick off against Villa like last weekend?

Roberto had that 'dust up' with the GPC. Never forget that. First time I think anyone has had a go at Fergie in the techy area. 'Twas a sight that warmed many a blue heart. Pep doesn't do that sort of thing 'cos the FArce will have a fine, ban and points deduction just burning a fuckin' hole in their collective pocket!

The e amount of embarrassed fans at the final whistle has a negative impact on the team. Maybe these neurotic types are better staying away.

Maybe I’m naive but I like to think that Zaba, Vinnie, Joe, Kun, Dave, Fern will follow in the footsteps of Buzzer, king Colin, Skip, The Goat, Dickov and others and continue to show their affection for the club and the fans long after you and I are pushing up daisies! The club has a record of nurturing long term relationships with legends which In turn enriches our love for the club.

A lot of the above are clearly just 'fans' now for the money. A fan would know City players names at his book signing, particularly in his own position.

who are you referring to?

Oh and we won titles before pep and we will after,we won't be a "standard" top 4 team

Yep - some people act like he’s taken over City circa 2005, and won leagues with Samaras, Kiki Musampa and DaMarcus Beasley. There’s never been a club/squad better equipped to win a league titles, and Pep is incredibly lucky in that regard.

Regarding people leaving early, it’s entirely their choice - people have lives and obligations beyond football, and the half hour saved in less traffic via leaving early can be better used elsewhere.

It’s also a product of predictability - due to the disproportionate depth of quality in the squad, it should and does beat most opposition comfortably, so there’s very little excitement or competitive intensity in most games, especially in the last 15 minutes. Missing the fourth or fifth goal against opposition who also want to go home isn’t a reflection on someone’s dedication to the club.

Not like the famous Kop, eh la. You boys sing non stop for 90 minutes, stay 10 mins after the final whistle whilst reciting witty poems before carrying Sir Klopp of teethchester aloft towards the sunset.
Fuck off.

Pep wanted the United job until it became a difficult one, so it’s hardly a surprise that he’s not hostile towards our rivals. He’s simply a mercenary who took the easiest route to more personal ‘success’.

Spot on regarding Mancini - he genuinely loved the club, the fans, and inherited a much harder job here than Pep did; he took pride in the development of players like Hart, Kompany, Zabaleta etc - if it was Pep in charge at the time, those club legends would never have became such, as he’d have just bought ready-made upgrades.

People can’t hold his last season against him either, as he was completely undermined by fat Ferran; had Cook and Marwood been allowed to continue their work alongside Mancini, I’m confident we’d have completely dominated English football for the rest of the decade, in a more tasteful, authentic manner than under St P£p of the Holistic Chequebook.

Every year that passes under Soriano, the more plastic the club becomes - the cockney goons running the social media, the generation of new ‘fans’ who wouldn’t have a clue who Andy Morrison or Richard Dunne were if they woke up in bed between them. The desperate pleas for ‘influencers’ to step in to help attract a new gang of bandwagon match-goers. It’s everything we used to mock United for, on steroids.

If that’s what the club has gradually become in the first decade of investment, what will it be in another 10 years time? Is the ‘success’ really worth it?
