Today we are really seeing the effect of the Laporte injury. He is such a huge player for us. Not only is he a great centre back but he also covers the frailties of our left backs. Add to this that we have taken Fernandinho out of his best position to cover at centre back so have lost the bite at defensive midfield.

We have been pretty poor by our standards since Laporte has been out. We still need a decent left back though.

The mistake was thinking that a 3rd and 4th choice defender last season would be good enough this season.

i think had Oliver given the pen, it would have been overruled for Bernardo’s handball but Liverpool wouldn’t have scored! That’s the key bit.

Aguero has been terrible in the box today.

We play ok but our defence is exposed by these lot and our finishing not clinical
