Var debate 2019/20

Thing with VAR is it a decision is made in a shed some 200 miles away from a faceless person. It should be the match ref that goes and looks at the pitch side monitor. Than us fans know who to shout abuse at !!! You cant really shout abuse at the match ref when 'the ref in the shed' has made the decision. We in fact now have two ref's reffing the game and still get it wrong
This is my final season after 45 years Ive had enough , cant stand the way the game has gone

because they want to over look it.

It really is that simple.

They have over looked a penalty for handball, a penalty for a push in the back and a clear offside with the naked eye, never mind the so called tech they have to why not ignore the handball in the run up to their goal?

VAR is working exactly as it was intended to do.

The brand will be richer for it come the next tv deal and that is all that matters.
im affraid your post is 100% correct and what a shame this is happening to our wonderfull game, its been around for over 100 years and now like everthing else they find a way to fuck it up,the game will loose in the end because only the constant winners from VAR will support the system and thats a chosen few, gates will decrease and people will find something else to do, its criminal at whats being dished up week in week out,one day the can of worms will be opened and the game will be cleansed of these parasites for good

As a fan , we are all biased towards the decision which favours our team. The officials in the VAR box, will all have favourite teams, and i would suggest some of the decisions being made this season, are being made by officials in favour of a preferred team . Just a thought.
and they may pop into the bookies prior for sitting down to operate the system

Gates will suffer from the ordinary fan, the lifeblood of the clubs up and down the country saying no more.

Issue is the clubs dont give a fuck and will see it as an opportunity to further monetise the seat and replace with yet more corporates with bottomless pockets after a magnificent matchday experience.

One question and I doubt anyone will answer this well, but might as well ask it:

= Lets imagine it was an ACCIDENTAL handball by Alexander Arnold.... fair enough no penalty to city...but Liverpool then scored. I seem to remember when we scored vs spurs in last minute our goal was ruled off as even tho Laporte accidentally handled it , any hands by an attacking team rules it out. So... why wasn't their goal ruled off on that basis given it started the attack?

Would love to see how they'd squirm out of that one. Blatant corruption.

For it to be covered by the law requires it to create goal-scoring opportunity. Alexander Arnold didn't. The law does not apply under GSO.
It just looked to be plain and simple handball which stopped the ball running straight to Sterling.

that only applies to the big 6 clubs, clubs such as Burnley,Norwich etc will gain nothing but loss of revenue,so the eventual outcome is a top 6 team table where we would play Liverpool 4 times a year

The rest are happy to just be in the league mate, as are their fans and take the money.

Var is a tool for mike Riley to back the ref regardless of how blatant anything is
To everyone else var should be a tool to Correct incorrect decisions
Only in England can we fuck something up that is so fucking simple.
It’s arrogent people protecting the status quo

Seriously, how can a system designed to improve decision correctness through video review be so shit. Would love to be a fly on the wall in that var room today, just to see how 3/4 supposedly competent and knowlegable people come to their decisions, not just today, but Arsenal not getting that pen last night too,I thought that was exactly what var was supposed to sort out. I have a suggestion, the inside of var rooms should be video and audio recorded and made available to managers post match, then aggreived managers can discuss issues with var teams afterwards. It is just too detached at the moment and the opportunity of manipulation is just too great.
