How Do You Get Your Music?

there used to be a second hand store called " thats entertainment",they had shops all over the north west i think, they closed most of them down including the one in my town.

but their online side still exists, music magpie, they're great value ,2 cd's for a fiver and now recently 4 for £8,free delivery and their cd's have always been in good condition except some of the 2cd's for £3,i bought hundreds from them over the last few years.

Musicians make money from touring and merchandise. They’re likely to release an album to support a tour.

CD's mostly purchased from Amazon these days. Used to buy a lot from a Second Hand Music store in Reading but don't work in Reading anymore and less and less stuff was turning up that I wanted.

All the cds' get loaded to my iTunes of course.

Still got all my vinyl but very rarely play that; especially as most of the best stuff is duplicated on cd.
Why don’t you stream mate. You can get cd quality and better from Tidal. It has all the music you will ever want, even old esoteric stuff. Sounds fantastic through a decent hifi or headphones.

Most of my music was from CD’s that are now on my phone via iTunes. I download the occasional track I like from the same service.

I’ve no idea about new music now.
I'd never download music from iTunes. Compete rip off!

I use MP3va to download my music but I'm thinking about getting on Spotify to avoid being left behind. No idea how it works though.

Spotify.

I have lots of albums and my favourite stuff i buy in Hi Res. There is a slight difference after much testing.. I tend to buy the cd's I like when I get into them on Spotify which might seem daft, but I grew up buying albums so I suppose that will never change.

But does it really have everything? A lot of late 80/ early 90s house and rave tunes I like aren’t that available from where I’ve seen - outside of a few lads banging them on YouTube that is. Amazon prime for example just wouldn’t have a lot of those tunes.
YouTube also has bootlegs, concert recordings, semi legal remixes, semi legal mash ups, and DJ mixes, including those off the radio.
I can’t find any alternative service that offers all that, even pay services.

btw, what’s this about apple dropping iTunes? So what’ll happen to all my vinyl I uploaded to there a fair while back??
