I like Southgate but he’s been an absolute fanny releasing that statement. Acting like a fucking politician.
Deal with it in-house. If he has to drop Sterling as punishment, no problem. But he could quite easily have told the media it’s an internal issue and he’ll be dealing with it behind closed doors.
There will likely be repercussions for Sterling from that vile, feral bunch of scrotes, and Southgate should have thought about protecting his best player from that, especially considering what he’s had to put up with in the past.

The problem is you really feel that sterlings going to be made a scapegoat again.
Edit;I really don’t believe sterling would try to strangle Gomez if all he was doing was offering his hand. There’s more to this than meets the eye but you can guarantee sterling will be made to look worse

Probably on par with Pep then. ;)Southgate’s treatment of Kyle Walker and Phil Foden has been poor. It doesn’t look like he’s done Raheem Sterling any favours either, unless Joe Gomez has been rushed to A&E.
Pep's not picking Jordan Henderson, Ross Barkley and Declan Rice over him tbf! If he was, I think he'd have been sacked by now!Probably on par with Pep then. ;)
