Won 4 trophies with those outdated methods though.

Pochettino reached his limit on where he could take and what he could do with Spurs. You give Pep or Klopp that Spurs squad and they'd get a lot more from it than putting the pressure on trophy and the end of each season. Poch solidified Tottenham as a top 4 team, he hadn't shown any signs of taking them further to certified title challengers instead they'd become a bit of an Arsenal in that top 4 every season purgatory. They are obviously an ambitious team so something needed to change. Is Mourinho a risk? Yes, but he has an incredible CV and has won something at every club he's been at. They may just plateau as top 4 or they may start winning things they certainly won't be the stagnate, ran out of idea team they currently are.

I think Maureen and Desperate Dan have such conflicting ego’s and mindsets it cant end well.

Levy - doesn’t like spending money on transfers and wages, like to see academy players because they are less expensive. Kane is now their highest earner and to attract other big names they will have to smash their wage structure, no way will Levy do that.

Maureen - loves splashing the cash on senior players, Matic will be signed in January for a large fee. He will also want big name players who demand big wages, he won’t give a shit about wage structures

Outcome - Levy to resign (or poached by Primark)

Maureen - sacked within 18 months because he’s blown his budget and is pleading for more time and money to improve his shocking style of football which has tightened up the defensive side of the team but still left them out of the CL places with no money to spend.

It’s a car crash, any Spuds fans who think differently are delusional.
 
Just read a Spuds forum, yesterday Mourinho was a cnut, today, he's a great guy who'll try to play the Spurs way.
Never understood what's meant by the 'Spurs way' or the 'West Ham way', it's all nonsense
 
Excellent appointment imo.

Pochettino is the most over rated coach of all time. The CL camoflagued how shite they've been for ages imo.

Mourinho will win trophies there. He knows how to keep clean sheets and see games out. Spurs have a very good 'top end' of the pitch but have always been let down by their lack of defensive ability. He'll put that right.

Mourinho also has a massive point to prove.

I might just have a few quid on them snideing their way to the CL this season.

I think the chosen one will do better than Poch and put the club on a more high profile footing, if he gets some success it's one in the eye for the noisy neighbours across the way from us.
