Agree with all of those, Verona in particular seems a bit under-rated compared to the more touristy Italian places, it's a beautiful city.

I'll second the comments about Lisbon, been twice and would love to go back again sometime. Salzburg isn't bad for a few days, went there with City.

Odense in Denmark or for that really chilly feeling Riga is lovely ...well it was in the blazing heat 18 months ago.

Really good shout. Been three times over the years. A great place! Ljubljana in Slovenia is also worth a visit: a small, compact city.

Any tips mate flying into there on the way to Zagreb only £27?

We're spending Christmas in Verona this year, 21st - 28th Dec, with day trips to Lake Garda and Venice planned. Can't wait.
