He played the full 90 minutes today, in a 3-2 win against Anderlecht. Kompany was captain.

I think AP got named to the JL team of the week, and was named best midfielder ... but I might be misunderstanding some Belgian social media. Didn't see match, personally, and can't find any highlights.

Has anyone been watching him this season? Oostende fans on twitter seem to like him a lot. It seems like he was very highly rated when we signed him, would be great if he could be a backup DM next season. Gundogan is not good enough IMO, and since Dinho is now a CB we need a backup to Rodri. Palaversa’s playing style looks very fitting, also think we have a 25m buy back caluse on Douglas Luiz. There’s also Yangel Herrera who has done very well on loan in La Liga

How many players go from doing quite well at the worst team in Belgium to being a good option for Champions League & Premier League contenders?

Dusting off the Ante Palaversa cobwebs has found ... KVO has announced his loan spell there is finito. Searching twitter for Palaversa mentions reveals the Lens fans discussing possibly getting him on loan, but it all sounded fan-sourced, fwiw. Also found was a decently executed scouting write-up done about Palaversa for some website called Left Back Football. Their take is a bit rose-colored-glasses from what I saw of him defensively last Fall/Winter for KVO, but they do seem to grasp the quality of his touch, vision and movement. Here's the ending bit of the article, for the TLDR crowd ...

"He finished 17th in Belgian footballer of the year voting with only four votes as he was also in the top four players considered to be KV Oostende’s player of the year. This is quite the accomplishment for a player who was considered to have an inability to maintain focus for 90 minutes in his previous loan to Hadjuk Split"

Headed to Getafe for a season long loan. Quite the step up - Getafe finished 8th in La Liga last season.

The Croatian middle center Ante Palaversa will become Getafe's third signing for the 2020-21 season. It will arrive on loan from Manchester City, club to which he belongs, although last season he played it on loan at the Ostend Belgian. International in the lower categories with his selection, It is a defensive pivot with good ball hitting and travel. Right-handed and eager to succeed in European football, it will become a competition for Maksimovic and Arambarri, indisputable for Bordalás in the course just finished.

Palaversa would be the fifth center-half of the squad along with Maksimovic, Arambarri, Timor and Fajr. In the case of the Moroccan, it has not counted for Bordalás in the last season and the footballer and the club are looking for a way out.

He's the only MF signing they've made so far. His main comp for playing time appears to be 2 established mid-20s guys. Ante getting thrown in the deep end a bit here.
