What time do you need to start work in London?
I wouldn't go anywhere near Luton if during rush hour. Better off with MK. Under an hour into Euston.

Book as far in advance as you can. Look at split tickets (although you have to be sure the train stops at the station where you split the ticket). It can work out cheaper going down Sunday night if you need to be there on Monday morning, even with a night in a hotel added in.

They get released 12 weeks ahead of schedule.
Manchester Picc to Euston return very cheap.
You can set the Trainline app to give you an email heads up when the dates you want become available.if you can travel outside rush hours they are cheap as chips. Current off peak fares advance are £25 out, £30 back.
Premier Inn Wembley Park does rooms for £43 a night. Very quiet and comfortable and the staff are really helpful. Does breakfasts and there’s a bar. It’s literally next door to Wembley Park station where there are two tube lines straight into London, about 20 minutes.
