Watched The Irishman and told my 16 yo son it was a brilliant film. He took my advice and watched it. He agreed it was brilliant and I said if he likes that then search Goodfellas and give it a try.

He came downstairs and said, oh my god dad, that was one of the best films I've seen and it's the same actors. He was really excited at what he had just seen and it was good to see him appreciating some classic film.

I know it sounds stupid but I'm really proud he had the attention span to watch two 3 hour films.. and enjoy them.

I'm gonna recommend Casino next and then, if he's ready, the Godfather trilogy.

And there was me thinking he was a YouTube junkie.

Loved it when my lad really enjoyed watching Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels when he was staying with me a couple of years ago. You can never be quite sure if a film can cross the generation gap.
In film there are some absolute timeless classics

A bit like the 6 - 1
