The damage that injury has caused him is at present made him a totally different player. (A lesser one to be exact)

It has effected him both psychologically and physically (i can speak from experience by the way)

Once this type of scenario occurs you think about how your body will handle every day chores let alone playing football

That post regarding Vinny's statement from his book is both a worry but also highlights how much we should have kept him as part of the staff setup to help other players

He did alright up until that brain fart. No need for the abuse some of these get on social media, not gonna help is it.
Some of the comments on the game thread were caustic towards Mendy. I hope I don't hear that kind of bitter abuse towards him watching him at games, starting with Sheffield United game. He needs our backing, not barracking!

Awful mistake, of all the players to try that against.
Other than that he was alright, couple of sunday league dribbles and only defender not constantly giving the ball away.

Can everyone get off their fucking bandwagons and think objectively for once. Until his error he was by far the best defender on the pitch. Walker was absolutely shit the whole match and fucked the offside trap which lead to Ederson's red card. Otamendi was caught napping at ederson red card and were making misstake after misstake. Fernandinho was caught flat footed at ederson red card.

Mendy was the only one doing his work for the majority of the match. He completely shut down Adama traoré until their first goal. But clearly everyone chooses him as a scapegoat for that big misstake. Did you guys even watch the match or are you just jerking off each other in the hate Mendy bandwagon?

If he didn't make the misstake and we had held out the lead he would probably have been man of the match. Some of you guys are ridicilous.

I’m not going to pile on Mendy for making a mistake 70 minutes into defending down a man, and under a ton of pressure against a good Wolves side. He played well up until that point and owned it, it happens. Some of the posts in this thread are embarrassing.
Well said. His post was heartfelt and honest. He had been doing fine but made a mistake, it happens. I actually don't know what he was trying to do and wonder if he had been told that if the ball went out it was a corner. There seems to be a lack of communication at the back and Bravo seems to not say much at all.

High profile mistakes like that are important. It’s not good being the best defender, out of a shite back four by the way whoopdy do, and then having such a brain fart it costs your team the lead when you’ve got ten men.

He was trying to usher the ball out when it came off our player and would have been a corner anyway.

The ball was there to be cleared and he didn’t do it, with about 13 mins left.

If a goal keeper makes 3/4 decent saves throughout a match and then let’s one through his legs to lose a game, he’s rightly lambasted, as it’s consistency that matters.

I was almost screaming for him to clear it as it was obvious to everyone but him what was going to happen.

This isn’t him getting done for pace or that he struggled physically, due to his injury. This was a ridiculously thick bit of play that has cost us dearly.

Zinchenko has to come back in now and Mendy needs to go in January. He’s been a complete waste of time and money.

He should have just booted it as it would have been their corner anyway , but having calmed down and seen it again this morning it’s definitely a foul.

Shoulder to shoulder would have been fair but it’s straight into the back of him
