Future Wingers

Shame we cant be linked to young European talents and get them at a good price. fed up with the club paying over the odds for average players. Dippers, Dortmund and Chelsea are streets ahead of us in getting good signings at a good fee.

I always thought Diaz would be a central player. Good at dribbling and running at players, but never good enough to be a wide player for us, let alone a fake Ronaldo replacement. Bit of Sancho syndrome with him in terms of starting for us before his time possibly. Certainly nowhere near a starting playing for Real. His move there was a bit like robbing Peter to pay a loan shark.

I always thought he would be best utilized as a #10. Unfortunately for him not many of the top sides play with a system that would allow him there. I do think it would be best for his career to join a Europa League side or even one just on the cusp of Europa League places.

If we continue with 343 no wingers are needed, but if we go back to 433 and Sane leaves, then bring in Werner, perfect option.

He is a winger striker hybrid imo, like mbappe.

Would be good to have a player who can play both positions for even when Sergio leaves.

Fair point and he is an excellent player but he would fit the dippers more than us. Excellent counter attacking forward but not sure he is an option for us.

With the new system though the moves start deeper so the forward will be running onto the ball, like Jesus at the weekend.

You could argue Werner is the best striker on the planet for that.

Werner is not a winger and neither is Havertz.

Bernardo Silva, Foden and KDB aren't wingers but all have played in the front 3 on the wings for City. Whether a player is a out and out winger is evidently less important to Pep than the skill set they possess - Havertz has a very good skillset and could fulfill the role.

Have you ever seen Werner playing for the German national Team? He is not that good as a Winger. His strength is his pace and he is not lethal. Let alone his dribbling is not as good as the guys u mentioned. There is a difference between a playmaker on the wings and a striker on the wings. KDB was born as a RW. He started playing there for Genk, Bremen and for us. Mbappe is better with the Ball and more skillfull than Werner. Werner is also not suited for the game we play. Bayern actually didn't go for him because he is literally the opposite of their playstyle.

And please dont start with Havertz on the wings. Are we trying to buy players for positions which are not their strongest? Havertz is a pure #10. That's like putting Draxler on the wings.
