#9 | Gabriel Jesus - 2019/20 Performances

Jesus is OK - but do you think he's world class?

Winding the clock back - do you prefer a 23-year-old Aguero versus Jesus?

In our current system, a complete hack such as Jo will score a ton of goals simply by being in position to score.

Which is to say...

I'm not sold on Jesus either way - he may turn into a world class striker especially under Pep's tutelage - or he may not. I think that we should sign a potential world-class striker to at least challenge Jesus - as Aguero is nearing the end of his career.
If a complete hack like Jo can score tons of goals, why do we need a potential world class striker to challenge Jesus?

.

If it is so easy to score many goals in our system, then why hasn't Sergio scored more than 32 goals for City in a single season? How many goals has Sergio scored in 2019? Much more than Jesus? Apparently not.

Here we go...

Pro-Jesus - and any comment against him or his performances will be incorrectly attributed in any way whatsoever...

Come on now...

Is Jesus honestly the best choice in all of world football given performances to date as the chosen one to replace Aguero?

Or, do you think as I do, that it's not clear? That we should absolutely retain Jesus if possible - that that we should meanwhile pursue top-top striking talent to at least challenge Jesus should he fail to live up the standard Aguero has set?
Sure. You are setting up a false reality.

Is Jesus World Class? Potentially.
Is he good enough to replace Aguero? Absolutely!
Is he as good a finisher? No
Is he a better passer? Yes
Does he move better off the ball? Yes
Is his interplay with teammates better? Yes.
Is he better at attacking balls in the box? No
Will he score 30 goals a season as the starter? Easily.

That's the thing, if like you believe that 'even Jo will score a lot in our system' then what's the worry? Since anyone will score a lot. Then Jesus will too. So I guess there is no point to your worrying then.

I wonder where all that Jesus has to Start comes from. Once he misses some 100% or has a bunch of offsides ya'll gonna turn on him again. I wouldn't mind seeing a 3-5-2 again tho.
