Aston Villa (A) Post-Match Thread

breath-taking football, where villa shit ? No, what else could they be because they couldn't get the ball !

that was a masterclass show, the passing and moving made it impossible for us to be played against. I have not seen a first half display like that from any PL team all season.

Massive pat on the back for the whole team, perfect football, perfect statement. Of course we will come up against tougher teams in Europe but that mindset and attitude plus staying focussed would win us the CL
When I think of all the games we have played and won at Villa Park, including cup semi finals, I would have swapped the lot to have been there yesterday. What I don't understand is the reasoning that a team using muscle to intimidate the life out of the opposition while competing with the Wimbledon of old for launching balls into the stratosphere are starting to be lauded as the greatest team ever by the media. No wonder they are derided abroad.

That was football porn.
A stunning 90 minutes of football dotted with some special moments. 'That' pass from The Prince, all 3 Aguero goals, the one-two's move and Foden clattering Captain Flashheart to name a few.

So many plaudits (rightly) about De Bruyne and Aguero who were both incredible, but I thought that Cancelo’s flick round the corner to De Bruyne for Aguero’s second was amazing and has gone unseen. Thought the whole team was on it today... be great to see us build on that for the rest of the season

Setting aside his argument with Sergio, Grealish is far too good for Villa, but not good enough for us. But then again Pep would massively improve him - like he's done for countless players during his career.
He's a horrible whinging diving gobshite with a bigger opinion of himself than his slightly above average talent merits, therefore he'll fit right in at the scum or dippers which is why I suspect he'll be at one or the other next season. He's the perfect player for the VAR era though as he's good at instigating contact and going down theatrically which is one of the most important skills a player needs these days.

Moss cheats the people who pay his wages every time he pulls on his reffing boots. Although his effect on today's match was minimal, due to our overall performance, his complete and utter lack of fitness showed. Several times today he was 30 to 35 yards behind the play and made a couple of calls,in my opinion, based on crowd reaction. How can he continue to get PL matches. He is much more suited to be a permanently stationed VAR reviewer.
He got in Silva's way near the end and Villa got the ball and we never really recovered before the penalty. Silva should have carted him.
