Exactly, nobody knows when the worse weather will happen. It even snowed in spring and stopped a Derbyshire/Lancashire cricket match some years ago. A well meaning but ultimately daft idea.

That inevitably happens in Scotland.

It works in Germany because firstly they have a Continental climate that is more predictable than happens here, and because they only play 34 rather than 38 League Games and one Domestic Cup.

Try persuading the PL Clubs to vote for a 34 game season! It will probably mean five going down one season. That could involve everyone from Arsenal and United downwards!

As for abolishing the League Cup as City have won it three times in the last four seasons and are odds on to win it this time, is that a good thing?

The answer is to rotate. Pep has come around to this. Klopp still tends to play the same team because their squad hasn’t the depth of City’s team.

Has nothing to do with weather, it's just a break given a name.

This, it's all about rest after the crunch period in December to early Jan, perhaps also doing what everyone else got to do over Christmas, see family etc. A good idea in my opinion but that still doesn't excuse teams still having less than 48 hours between games, that should be a thing of the past to go with this change.

I could live with that. City would then be the only team to win a domestic treble for eternity

klopp hasn’t respected a domestic cup competition in years, regularly playing reserves.

The answer should be fewer international games. There’d be plenty of time for players to rest up if it weren’t for these meaningless fucking borefests.

Alternatively, stop these nonsensical international matches from interfering with the start of the season, play them mid-winter somewhere with a warmer climate.

Have a month set aside for international games, to allow those who enjoy it to travel in November or January or February or something. Take out all the league breaks across Europe for the regular Autumn to Spring season.
