The answer should be fewer international games. There’d be plenty of time for players to rest up if it weren’t for these meaningless fucking borefests.

They take 40 days out of the football calendar, most fans don’t give a toss about International football until the real tournaments come along. Playing the likes of SAN Marino is ridiculous for teams rated at the top.

They could play four games in the first couple of weeks after the regular season, have one International break in say November for the final two games and the March international break for the play offs. That would mean groups of four not five and six as we have now.

It would free up a further 20 days in the calendar, reduce the Christmas schedule by one match and have the Feb break. Also scrap replays in all cup competitions and let all Championship, League One and League Two Clubs who qualify for the third and fourth rounds of the FA Cup share the TV and prize money.
