Why does a company rescued a year ago by Cyrus Capital, Virgin and Stobart need Government support via Tax Payers money?

What Government money ? The government have merely said they will allow them to pay their tax bill later than normal. If they had allowed them to go bust the government would not have got any money at all so they are merely being sensible, (and yet they still get criticised)

you're completely wrong. Kudos to HMRC and those supporting a vital British regional venture. Caroline Lucas and her ilk can get fucked and start focusing on the real issues like making air travel cleaner than cutting air travel itself. Be progressive ffs.
Utter nonsense.

How do we 'focus on making air travel cleaner'? What are the timescales on that? Will it take 10 years to 'make air travel cleaner'? If so, that's too late. Cutting air travel is essential because WE ARE IN A CLIMATE EMERGENCY. Someone needs to grab our societies metaphoric head and drag it right out of the sand.

If it means fewer Tories holiday in Cornwall, so be it. If it means people in Cornwall have less connectivity, well tough... don't live in Cornwall if you want connectivity.

Perhaps my question wasn't put the right way.... If the company was purchased a year ago I assume that the tax debt would have been paid off by the outgoing owners... the new owners should have been aware of the tax liability and budgeted accordingly .... they have obviously failed to do that or have been remiss in their due diligence.

Or is it that the owner of Cyrus Capital has donated £1.7 million to the Tories and the owner of Virgin has just entertained Johnson for a fortnight at his villa on Mustique?

Selfish bastard.

for over a year Flybe domestic routes have been subsidised by the D o T to the tune of £5 per seat each way with tax payers money.
