Toast

Following on from the Rocket Science and Disinfectant threads, I thought I'd find some middle ground that we can all relate to..!

Half asleep this morning and before leaving for work I had my usual 2 pieces of buttered toast with a hot cup of tea..

How good is toast..!

You can have it with butter, jam, marmalade, nuttella (yuk), beef dripping, or just plain if you're suffering self inflicted alcoholic poisoning..

You can have it with soup, sausage, bacon, mushrooms, tomatoes, beans and egg (you can't beat an egg to be honest! )

Bread is cheap and toast makes infinite meal options that cater for the masses..

It comes in white, wholemeal, granery, sourdough, tiger and many, many more varieties..

All very toastable, you can even toast oven bottom muffins..

Not forgetting French Toast too if you want to have a Continental feel to your toast..!

Toast, food fit for a King..!
Somebody must have beat me to it but, did you write the Birdseye Potato Waffles advert from yester-year?

I'll have you know I'm far too creative to be associated with that shitty jingle..!

I'm still livin' off my shake 'n' vac royalties if you don't mind..!

"Do the shake n vac and put the freshness back, all you got to do is do the shake n vac"..!

I'm fkin minted..!

All these different opinions and preferences and no swearing, abuse or insults between fellow blues unlike the raging on taking place on the Prince Harry thread.

That's why breakfast is the most important meal of the day.

I've started courting with a nice young lady and the conversation came around to crumpets yesterday (I had been reading this wonderful thread) and she said she doesn't like crumpets?? Think that's me and her done.

I'm just looking at a bowl of batter warming nicely by the edge of the fire from which I will make a dozen crumpets! It's her loss , nc!

Crumpets have to be toasted until properly firm and dark brown..

Once popped up get them back in the toaster again..

Thick dollop of butter on each one so when you bite into them it dribbles down your chin..

Or is that just me.. Ha!

No, Bill, it's the crumpet. They can't stand the heat and want to jump out before they're done!
