It just shows again how bent FFP is. A new owner is not allowed to invest heavily in the key part of their new business (ie staff) but crooks like the Glazers are allowed to load a club up with debt as part of their takeover of the Rags. Like us, Newcastle need a period of accelerated growth just to get to the top table. What the hell is wrong with that if you can afford it? Newcastle may decide to take the PSG route ie just ignore the rules and take a hit for a few seasons when they are not playing in Europe. The same is true for Everton. Why should they be held back to allow their cartel-club local rivals to accelerate away from them. It is just protectionism.Will this be a sucess story like ours? I don’t think it will be possible for the new owners to turn the money taps on like Shiekh Mansour did back in 2008 with the financial fair play rules, I bet the Newcastle board were one of the teams that voted for it when it was introduced to the premier league.
Look at Everton they have money but can’t spend it aggressively like City and Chelsea did, good luck to Newcastle if it happens the rags being another notch down the table is something we can all approve.

The debt the rags have is what will take them under, what sane person would now buy that club and buy the debt and then have to invest in redeveloping Old Trafford whilst trying to build a squad that compete. Newcastle are similar to what we were in 2008, a fan base to tap into and a club which can be bought into on the cheap compared to what you could get the rags for.

If the take over happens and Newcastle get rich they will need a new manager. The idea of Steve Bruce trying to keep company with the new bosses is laughable.
There's talk of Benitez returning if the sale goes through, apparently.

100% mate. In this country, anything threatening the fortunes of the original Sky 4 must be faced down. I'm sure the clear and orchestrated campaign against us can be adapted and applied to other Teams.
