It's not time for experiments though. Everything now is about the CL, we won't win it with Garcia at CB, he migh be ripped apart at Bernabeu. How many starts did TAA have when he was 18 y.o? Garcia and Foden had several, including league starts, before they turned 19.
Which CBs do you think give us a fighting chance of winning the CL?

Isn’t playing people out of position just as much an “experiment” as opting for younger specialists?

Are you saying the remote chance of winning the CL justifies continued failure to develop the likes of Garcia and Foden for the future?

Klopp is better, Pep deserves the flack he is getting from City fans.

Hope that helps. Not that I believe it but people are free to criticise.

Being devil’s advocate here:

  • If we were thought to be light at CB on Vinny’s retirement, we could have bought someone. And I don’t mean Slabhead at £80m.
  • Instead it appears - and I’m not knocking it - the club believed they had sufficient resources in Laporte, Ota, Stones and Garcia plus a potential conversion in Fern. (Kyle? No thanks.)
  • Garcia - like Foden - lives on the bench despite showing promise. If Pep deems him shit, why was he in the CB equation?
  • Yes, Sane has been out but Mahrez has finally established himself this season. Good stats. Not everybody likes his application but the same was true of Sane
  • KDB is back after missing a lot of 2018/19
  • Mendy is back, but his fragility was a known factor in the close season.
  • Was Angelino bought as genuine cover or to sell on?
  • Zinc - bless his cotton socks - wasn’t a huge miss at LB.
  • Defensive coaching appears to be either wank or non-existent.
That said, Eric has been sorely missed.

I agree with your last sentence. Let’s go for whatever we can the rest of the season, give our kids a fair fcuking crack and re-group next year. Regrettably I think the CL is pie in the sky.
As regards Stones I assumed the club had confidence in him at the beginning of the season, hence we had adequate cover at CB.
However in the light of subsequent events I'm now far from certain that this was the case.
This makes the decision not to sign another CB in the summer a massive foxes paw on the club's part.

Manchester City players asked Pep Guardiola to temper his tinkering during their 45-minute lock-in at Tottenham. Senior players have concerns over Guardiola fiddling with tactics and personnel, and some aired their views on Sunday.

Pep Guardiola opened the subject to the floor, asking for suggestions as to where they can improve.

I agree with that, you make some good points. Pep wants a settled team though and that's right too. Liverpool are the definition of a settled team, heleped by lack of injuries to key players.

what has pep achieved before getting barcelona job?

Pochettino overachieved everywhere he has been and specially at Spurs. Took a club with president with snake in his pocket, made it regular CL members and then CL finalist with resources that aren't as big as his achievements.

Pep will go soon or sooner (no longer than next summer) and I can't see a better and safer manager to took over than Poch. Very good manager and playing style of football that wouldn't be a shock to our players after Pep. Some young promising guns over there, but if you question Poch's credentials, than talking about them is a no go.

Pep is a great manager but we all have flaws, most times we don't realize we have these flaws and at some point a good friend or partner has to step in for a one on one conversation to let you know what you've been doing wrong and I think thats what the players have done here.

I stand with Pep but the players are a 100% spot on here.
