Wise words....
  • You see gum on the street, leave it there. It's not free candy.

I was there first week in December and was paying average of $9 with a$1 tip per drink .. Most expensive place I’ve ever been . Good though
 
Hudson Yard is a new tourist attraction btw but its class. Looks amazing and it's free to go up. It directly leads onto the start of the High Line walk too which is beautiful. I'd also recommend the library. Lovely building.
 
Agree on the high-line, also my tip would be to go up to the top of the rock, rather than the Empire State. Time it so you are up there at dusk, if it's a clear night, fantastic watching the city (including the Empire State light up).
 
We’re going in July too, arriving early morning on the 1st so going to watch NYCFC that night, had a quick look for tickets and seem to vary wildly in price, where’s the best place to sit, and buy tickets?

Number 1 must do is the beast, outstanding views of the Hudson and the Statue of Liberty.

Top of the Rock at sunset has the best views in my opinion.
9/11 is a sobering experience.
If the weather is good, walk the Brooklyn bridge,
visit Central Park & central station.
Treat the ladies to Breakfast at Tiffany’s (needs to be booked a month in advance)
Don’t spend too much time in and around Times Square.
