Lee Mason appointed referee for League Cup final

It would not have mattered who was the ref, there would have been a thread up about it being an awful appointment regardless.

True, is that because we're a paranoid bunch or all the refs are cheating corrupt twats? ;)

Maybe it’s because as a collective referees are misfits, dimwits and fuckwits who ref our games like fans of whichever team we are playing except Oliver, that cúnt is definitely corrupt.

The fat fucker isn't fit to live never mind ref a fucking final. Total waste of oxygen and drain on the NHS. I don't think he's corrupt per se, He's just a fat useless wanker that acts like a defensive midfielder blocking a quarter of the pitch for any team that plays a possession based game. To be effective against this fucker you need to play on the break when hes guaranteed to be 80 yards behind play.

But if you look at the details, it's not special at all.

League twice - 2-0 vs Newcastle, and 2-2 vs Burnley. Nothing out of the ordinary there.
League Cup twice - 2-1 vs Wolves, and 5-0 vs Liverpool kindergarten. One notable win.

Really, there's nothing to take exception to. He's reffed Villa the same number of cup games as he has City.
So his third LC game for Villa...seems excessive.

No but we’re a fucking good team, and I imagine in recent years we have won at least in the ratio of 11/15 domestic games. Some immature tits think we lose every week mind
Silly tits, checking results shows we don’t. Though future games are up in the air, this game, reckon 2-1 Villa.

If Mason gets in the way, or breaks up an attack instead if playing advantage, or books a City player for a first tackle (no worse than the 5 or 6 he's let go for Villa), then we'll know the fix is in. It's classic game management, and you don't need VAR to do it.

We'll know within the first few minutes of the game how it is going to pan out, and so will the players (of both sides).

Claytop it is probably the latter. We as City fans know that the refs do not like us. Most of them would prefer us to go back to our small little club. That is because we are breaking up the so called big 6 clubs, and the boards of the FA, Premier League and the referees body just don't like it.
