Tried watching Lord of the rings on ch5 this afternoon, it was absurd. Edits included: Aragon torching a wringwraith at the watchtower. Cut. Main troll killing his own after being dug up. Cut. Arwen drawing an arrow to Aragons neck when searching for weed. Cut. Ludicrous. Gave up at that point.

No it is used to garner the order then and there. Try it next time you are stood in a busy bar... "excuse me , I can see you are busy but can I pre-order a pint of your finest?" :-)

Low budget TV shows that have a 'theme tune' intro, done on some crappy keyboard, no actual musical instruments, nonsensical melody and terrible sound quality.
Is there any need for these useless bits of irritant ? Do they serve any purpose, are they of any benefit to anyone ?
