Madrid away

Are most people making there own way to ground, or is there an escort?

We are English and mainly mancs, what we do is frequent loads of bars, have a few tipples, make some noise and turn up at the ground about 2 mins before kick off. No planned escort, just everyone happens to rock up and then we expect to be in for kick off.

Just do the same and you should be ok.

If you did not know the above I have to ask who are you?

Why, which museums are you doing ? If I can get permission off City to rearrange my travel plans, having already filled in my 32 page 'Restriction of Movement' document I might join you.

Fuck them questionnaire forms, visiting the bird museum apparently it’s full of tits and boobys should be fun

You dont have to ask Mayo, but i'll tell you. Born and raised in Stretford, started going in 73, aged 8. Had season ticket for 25 years then moved away. Now go when i can, with my boys who i have brought up correctly as Blues. Have done about 60 away grounds with City, including europe(pre season friendly). But have not done european away in proper competition. Have been in escorts in the past, and see the same when teams visit europe. So i wasnt sure if the police allowed us to congregate, get pissed and then go off on our own, or if they locked down the plaza when it was obvious we would all be leaving, and escort us there to ensure no problems. I didnt get my tickets through a supporters club either. Off topic, but i hope you have a great time and get the result you would like. ( Like you, i will be having a few, getting there half hour before, singing as always for the boys and hoping for at least a draw).

Do not bother with the plaza mayor (or whatever it is called)

Head to malasana area. That I hear is better and I will be there.

Triskel Tavern about 5pm Wednesday

Just a word of warning, a lot of fans including Blues always congregate in the Plaza Mayor. The local cafes get fed up as they like to make sure posh people spend money at the overpriced cafes there, these owners ring the Madrid Fascist cops who attend and do whatever they can to stir up trouble. There are loads of places for a drink, see an earlier post re this, I would suggest staying away from the Plaza.

Thinking of doing the Madrid stadium tour on matchday late morning. Has anyone done it before on matchday and if so is it worth it or too many restrictions?
