It's a record, how is it not impressive? There have been plenty of games since 2003 where one team has played with 10 men for most of game and no player of the other team completed so many passes. Why has Dinho or Gundy or Toure or Scholes or Carrick or Alonso never completed so many passes even in games with 11 vs 10 players? Because it's not that easy, that's why.

It's incredible that most posts after last night are more critical than positive. 'If he does it against better teams...' He didn't do it at Anfield and Old Trafford though, it's Kevin who did at Manure. Let's hope there won't be any brainfarts at Bernabeu.

I’m a big fan of him so far but I actually thought last night was one of his poorer games. Passing wasn’t quite there but he’s wasn’t alone.

Confidence is gone and looks worryingly shit at times. Couldnt advance from defence today cos he was just ghosting it in the middle. Wooden and slow, but read the play on e for that attack in the second

His vision is letting him down right now. So many times he could have played quick forward passes between the lines but he didn’t see the pass. When Fernandinho played that role, those passes were slicing through teams at will. I’ve seen Rodri make these passes for us but today was so hesitant, he looks like he’s dipping a bit.

mediocre so far. Considering we've had to rip apart back-to-back title winners to fit him in you'd expect more.

Maybe the CL will be when he shows his mettle.

So frustrating to watch him play. He can seemingly never spot the forward pass and you have no confidence that he will win the ball back in defensive situations.

Top player and once we get back to players constantly moving he will be a really important player for us. Lack of movement is an issue this year and it makes it harder to find killer balls unless you are Kev of course.
