Premier League Games 22/23/24 February

It wasn’t Oliver’s decision tbf.
But it should have been. In every other country that uses VAR, Oliver is at the monitor. If Oliver is reffing in Europe this week, and that happens, he’s at the monitor. The obvious reason being that he knows what he thinks he’s seen and the pictures confirm that or they don’t, but it is still his decision.

This is fundamental to it having any chance of it working as you can’t have two different people reffing the same game, to two different sets of standards.

Agree completely. It’s nonsensical that our refs don’t do that.

As they don't use those VAR monitors pitch side do you reckon they'd let me have one for the kitchen at a knockdown price?

The thing is, you don't need him to look at the monitor. If they don't want to have that slowing things down, it's OK.

You just do what Rugby does and accepts that a referee might make mistakes or not see things, so the qualified guy in the TV room can make a decision he misses.

The problem is they combine no monitors with this insane "clear and obvious error" bullshit where they try to come up with reasons why a VAR shouldn't overrule a referee even though everyone can see the referee just missed something.
