Conviction in his decisions is what I liked the most! He knew what he had seen with eyes and waved away a couple of pressure moments when the real players were asking him to go to the monitor. premier league take note.

God tier performance. Can't remember a better refereeing performance in the last couple of years. Didn't notice the ref at all, every decision was spot on.
Even the Mendy yellow, it sucks that he will miss the next game but he had it coming. Made several fouls building up to the yellow

Takes a lot of bottle to send a Madrid player off, and give a penalty against them. No English PL ref would have done that at the swamp or Anfield
