Didn't look like he spent his whole childhood supporting Atletico and playing for their youth teams. Looked uninspired and was mediocre. Gundog outshined him tonight

Some of the comments in this thread, after a historic victory away to Madrid... hate to think what would have happened had we played against a decent side tonight with such a supposedly “average” player.

It really is difficult to understand some of our support at times.

If when we win, we say every player was great and then when we lose, we say they were all shit, it wouldn’t really paint a true picture and we might as well close down the player performance forum.

With “analysis” like what is on offer after tonight, we might as well.

Awful but you can see his confidence is gobe and a lot of foreign players struggle after the half way point in the prem before they settle, so hopefully temporary, but its worrying how slow and immobile he is, uncomfortable on the ball and not willing to take it under pressure. Hopefully the last two are temporary

Mate, Rodri was poor last night. Too many passes put the intended recipient under pressure. Far too slow in thought. That was the case for their goal. He kept at it and seemed to improve in the last 15 minutes or so. A bad performance doesn’t equal a bad player but these are the games you are looking for players to really stand up. Critisicm warranted in this case.

Seen nothing since he arrived to suggest he's good enough for City. Slow and easily got at. And before anyone starts I'm not being negative just for the sake of it. No amount of settling in will change his lack of pace and in his position you need it. Before all this stats nonsense you let your eyes tell you how a player performed. 2 yard passes backwards or sideways no matter how many you manage in a single game just don't cut it.
He is definitely good enough for City. A hell of a Footballer.Lots more to come when settled in.High Technique High Class.that's Rodri. You learn so much from watching him play football.
And what a Cannonball shot.
Keep the Faith
Keep the Rodri
