Should we drop the pre-match hand shake?

In view of the advice to the public not to shake hands. It seems that now may be a good time time to drop this pre-match ritual.

Never liked it anyway and we never used to do it years ago.

It is one of the most hypocritical aspects of the game that has ever been foisted on the paying public. Did that canute who near took off Sergio's leg on Sunday shake his hand before kick off?

The 'Fairplay Handshake' sits very happily with Uefa's 'Financial FairPlay Regulations'. They have one thing in common - they would both be a lot more meaningful if you just removed the word 'fairplay'!

Come Sunday, once the laughable handshake has completed the guy who collects the tracksuit tops can dole out a splash of antiseptic gel to the City players.

Perhaps stop the customary emptying of the contents of the players throat and noses on to the pitch.
