Announced now that there will be no hand shaking between players and officials at games as of this weekend. Good, hate seeing gods own touching those rag cunts (players and officials)
* Player gets angry, proceeds to butt heads with the opponent and talk smack about him while spitting his words and saliva at a 1-centimetre distance from the opponent's mouth.
* Opposing players involuntarily hugging each other/falling on top of each other after tackling.
* Pushing and pulling in the area when there's a corner.
* Teammates doing all sorts of touchy things when celebrating.

Football is a contact sport, shaking hands with the opponents/refs is just a very small part. Probably the only part you can control and eliminate to be fair. But still it won't do a lot.

Thanks for the insight, mate — always interesting to hear how people in different areas/cultures are coping.

I am seeing interesting differences between my frames of reference (UK, Spain, US) that are generally in line with the varying prevailing cultures.
Now I'm curious; what differences did you notice?

Just looking at the numbers on John hopkins.

In the last week ( 2 weeks in a row ) out side of China has Pretty much doubled twice. If that trend continues, out side of China will top 140k cases in about 9 days from now.

20th-27th was just under 2 doublings, 1200 up to 4300.
27th-5th was just over 2 doublings, 4300 up to 17500.

Does anyone know how outside China compares to China at the same stage of their outbreak?

It will make fuck all difference. It is being done in order to educate the peasants which is how the government here see those of us below the political classes. If Rashford, Kane, Salah dont shake hands, the peasants wont shake hands. Monkey see monkey do if you like.

from the retrospective analysis ( last week I think it came out) before the quarenteens at the very start that was doubling every 2.6-3 days which seems to be a similar or little bit faster than we are seeing right now.

edit. Figures from memory so maybe a little off.
