Coronavirus: Football Discussion Thread

If she says we only need to play two games then finish the season, if Livarpool win them we know she has as much respect for people as do many of her fellow supporters.
It’s an absolutely reprehensible thing to suggest and encapsulates why they are so widely despised. It’s always about them.

Now they want to scrap Fa Cup but not PL. Fuck that.
Oh what a surprise, what with spurs just having been unceremoniously dumped out of it by Norwich.
And after all the media had been wishfully thinking and expecting that this was it -the year the trophy messiah was finally gonna bring them that silverware they've been craving for so long. Sour grapes. The equivalent of a mard arse kid picking up his ball and going home.
The best quarter finals line up in years as well.
Be such a shame to see this season's fa cup just vanish into the ether. Hope it doesn't.

Seriously I wouldn’t give a monkeys if we were on course for a quad and it was all canned. Football whilst part of our lives pales into insignificance with this going on. I’m struggling to understand why people even care.

I am honestly more concerned about the people who think that covid is good in some kind of weird way as it would help in population control because apparently its fatal for old people only.

We as humans didn't progress to 21st century to act or think this selfishly. If anything, in present world, you can have a more meaningful and interesting conversation with older members of society than youths busy checking their social media feed every 5 minutes.

In my opinion, you postpone all competitions and play them in the chronological order they should be played when they can be played. For example PL alongside all cups and then Euros after they are complete. Player's contracts should run out as usual but players cannot play for another club. Contracts should have an option to negotiate an extended period until the competitions are finished. Anything other than playing all competitions under the same rules, as usual, should just be null and void. One leg champions league ties? No thankyou.

Forget Liverpool winning the league, the biggest injustice is the bottom 3 being relegated, that would be a disgrace.

The FA Cup is in serious jeopardy with no decision on whether it can go ahead expected until next month, despite FA bosses determined to make sure it gets finished as it is already at the quarter final stage

Premier League players are concerned about returning to training this week as the escalating coronavirus crisis continues. A number of players fear it is too soon to go back amid calls for social distancing.

Manchester City are among several English clubs expected to return to training this week, along with Aston Villa, Brighton, Burnley, Manchester United, Sheffield United, Southampton, Tottenham, West Ham and Wolves

Half of next season gone is what you would take from that news ?
To be fair, football’s problems are a healthy distraction in this situation. If you only thought about the implications for your family and everyone else you’d go mad.
