Coronavirus: Football Discussion Thread

I am going off on a tangent here. As most people will have paid for live football + other sports, both to Sky and BT. They will also have to start giving refunds to those supporters who have paid to watch live sports. There is only so much replays of sporting events that you can watch before you become bored with them.

As the relevant football bodies are meeting today, to decide when and if football will resume in the near future. So know doubt they will put it back by a couple of weeks. Where they will have another look say around May1st or so. When they only solution is to bring the season to a total stop and call the season null and void. Then come the end of June which hopefully this pandemic will start to decline, thou I doubt that, that will happen then. The only solution is to draw up new fixtures for the season 2020/21 which will start as and when the needs arise. So maybe run the season from January right through to June 30th. for this to happen there would have to be no FA Cup or Carabao Cup and also no Champions League or Europa league games as well. That way the season 2021/22 should be able to start as normal throughout the whole of Europe.

The only way this season gets finished now is if there’s no football at all until next year and they just scrap next season, giving time to finish the remainder of this season ahead of the 21/22 season which isn’t unrealistic right now

Season extended indefinitely, they will probably finish it next year if needs be... This whole situation has shown the world what them lot are all about, from fans to the media.

football is finished for this season and other sports are now calling for a September start at the earliest

the premier league and champions league and the rest will have be be voided and cancelled or cancel the new season 2020/21 and finish the old one and start in September and finish and have a winter break and start the new one. and if you think about it with the world cup in 2022 and having to play it in Christmas time it would work out well and get us ready for the stop start season we will have for the world cup

so cancel the new season and play out the old one then start the new season in January and we would have 2 seasons of the new setup and be ready for the world cup
