Rock's greatest guitar solos

close the thread

here is the answer to your thread question

nothing will ever come close to Gary, its a solo from start to finish

Roy would have been proud to know Gary took his original to this level

“Close the thread”! Laughable.
Its only just started mate; we’ve got time on our hands ;-)

The one and only Gary Moore with Parissian Walkways.

Here we go Oakie and I wholeheartedly agree. This is what dreams are made of having the propensity to make you shake with utter delight . Oh my days and nights and it's beyond the sublime!

Love the chaps reaction at the 3.25

Three soloists in one so they must be God! I wasn't going to drink tonight but changed my mind as I'm all out of sniff : / I guess the real crescendo starts the dance at around the 8 minute mark with guitars in chat mode but the tempo and bar quickly become raised way beyond the surreal as a trilogy of beauty weaves interacts and jockeys for position frenetically coming together as one single entity and so all a rock aficionado can do at a time like this is fall to their knees in homage. Happy are those called to this supper!

And Then Came The Last Days Of May: Blue Oyster Cult. (They say the West is nice this time of year)

Parched land no desert sand, sun was just a dot
And a little bit of water goes a long way, 'cause it's hot (it's hot)
Three good buddies were laughing and smoking in the back
Of a rented Ford
They couldn't know they weren't going far

Each one with the money in his pocket
Could go out and buy himself a brand new car
But they all held the money they had
Money they hoped would take them very far

The sky was bright, a traffic light, now and then a truck
And they hadn't seen a cop around all day (what luck)
They brought everything they needed
Bags and scales to weigh the stuff
The driver said the border's just over the bluff

It wasn't until the car suddenly stopped
In the middle of a cold and barren plain
And the other guy turned and spilled
Three boys blood, did they know a trap had been laid?

They're ok, the last days of may, I'll be breathing dry air
I'm leaving soon, the others are already there (all there)
You wouldn't be interested in coming along, instead of staying here

They say the west is nice this time of year.

his entire catologue is special.

He could certainly play. Some of his vocals were a bit harsh for me (Murder in the Sky, Out in the Fields) so I didn’t always like listening to him, but it’s hard to argue with his playing,
for sure.
