Newcastle United have put all non playing staff on leave in order to guarantee the future of the club.

Hopefully the ground staff are on "gardening leave" or else their pitch won't be fit for purpose in a couple of months time.

Out of interest, why would clubs have to pay back any TV money. If this is contractual wouldn’t this be subject to Force Majeure?

It's in interesting point as clubs always point to match day takings as not being a huge part of their income. So why cant they pay their staff ?.

For most teams outside, and some within, the PL and Championship, gate money is the life blood. Some clubs will be having little or no income at the moment. I think Uefa should bail them out. Only problem for MCFC would be that we would be fined for buying Easter eggs from Lidl during the lockdown to finance it all! By the way, has Plod picked up Mad Dog for taking his dog for a walk?
