You can however do what a vaccine does the more costly way. That involves taking blood plasma from survivors and injecting it into those at risk.

He seemed to think we did have the capability. Just not the will. 10 million a day, all the labs in the country could do it.

Hmm, yeah, really can't see why we're not aiming for this.

All we need to do is test 66,000,000 people every week. That's only 62,000,000 more tests than the entire world had carried out by 30th March.

That answers a query I made some time ago as to the frequency those who test negative should be re tested.
Thanks for posting, I wonder how often NHS staff should be tested though?

Apparently it's a different strain so I think I am correct in saying that you can get as close as you like with no danger to you or others. It's best to stick to facts not scaremongering in these difficult times.

Just on this testing everyone to see if they have had it point. If you are tested and you haven't had it, what do you actually do with that information? Are you then meant to self-isolate for the foreseeable future until there is a vaccine or do you just get back out there and hope to pick up a mild case?

We're doing it and we want to ramp it up massively. But you really need an antibody test to do it big time.
