Shops long gone from Manchester you used to love.

Was it Chelsea girl with the chrome frontage in Piccadilly? Nor for shopping but for perving the girls going in and out.

My Auntie Nellie was Manchester’s oldest flower girl right into her eighties (1990s) used to have her stall near Victoria then on market street. Always the highlight for a trip to town. Would be great if anyone else remembers her.

Rosenfields on Shudehill, or thereabouts. I think every kid in the 70s and 80s and probably for decades earlier, got dragged there for their first suit. I know I did.

Think.my mum took me there when I was 15,for a Wedding
It was awful-I looked like Al Capone!

Was rifling through the loft and found a load of old NMEs and 2000ADs also found some old comics in and Odessy 7 bag and remembered I spent many a day in both shops at the pheonix and corn exchange.

I use to spend many a sat in Hurleys on the approach, mainly browsing as I was skint ;-)

So what shops do you miss in town or in your town.

Anyone saying C&A is probably taking the piss

Used to love Nemesis the Warlock (although tbh I didn't have a fucking Scooby what was going on half the time ;)

Oasis and the rest of the shops in the Underground Market.
Virgin (Oldam Road)
Kendals (the music and furniture departments on the other side of the road linked by tunnel)
Beatties (Model Shop in Spring Gardens)
The Dutch Pancake House (Restaurant just off Peter's Square)
The Great American Disater (Restaurant on Deansgate). The most amazing burgers and American food.
Fudruckles (Altrincham Americam restaurant)
Wheatmans (Hardware Store in Hale)
The Bleeding Wolf (pub in Hale)
Playback (Record shop in Branhall)
The Sweet Shop (old fashioned sweet and ice cream shop next to Playback) - It sold he most amazing pistatisho ice cream I have EVER tasted.
Ken Palk (The other Record shop in Branhall)
Woolworths in Bramhall and Manchester.
