Have City bought any real bargains?

From a sell on point of view Paul Stewart, cost 200k from Blackpool, sold to Spurs for a healthy profit and then on to the scousers, for a million plus, also played for England
You don't pick up this type of bargain anymore
SWP cost nothing as a kid sold for 20+milion kept the club alive, got to be the biggest really when you consider this
If you're looking for players who've made a big impact, Colin Bell, Franny Lee, Mike Sumerbee etc, the youth Cup squad of 86, The Goat, Andy Morrison, Dickov (for that one goal) Sergoi, David Silva, Kompany, Zabba, Hart and Yaya were all a steel in the grand scheme of things

God knows what we’d have achieved if Cook and Marwood were allowed to continue their work; they built a platform which redefined the club in the modern era, and I think their successors have underachieved in comparison, considering the status and resources of the club they inherited.
Haha, get to fuck you berk, go back to rawk or red cafe or whatever its called clown, the adults are having a discussion here

This is spot on - nobody wants to hold Soriano, Txiki or Pep accountable for their unprecedented spending, yet relatively moderate success. 2 titles in 4 years and no Champions League progress with a £1b squad was hardly worth the 3 year wait for Guardiola, or given the owners value for their investment.
Yeah of course it wasn't worth the wait, toddle off now, fuck me come on Boris get the schools open again

In financial terms Paul Stewart must be the greatest bargain. We sold him for eight times the amount in one year and arguably the money allowed us to buy Dibble, Biggins, Gayle, Morley, Gleghorn?? etc who enabled us to gain promotion.

I take your point about SWP, but he sort of falls in that grey area between a youth player and a fully fledged signing. Either way great work by the scouting team.
