From reading any newspaper including the comments section I think we have alread lost the battle in terms of football fan opinion. If we do win at CAS it will be seen or spun as a victory for money and our expensive legal team. I think if we do win we need to be proactive and publish some of our evidence.

From our public statements of confidence that we will be cleared I think that in particular Txiki Bergiristains position will be untenable if the case is dismissed or even if the punishment reduced to one year.

We lost the battle of fan opinion 12 years ago the day we got taken over.

The Premier League has been investigating City, but it appears to be waiting for UEFA and CAS’s decisions before announcing their stance. The Premier League has its own FFP regulations, although they allow for far greater losses than UEFA does — an English top-flight club would have to make losses of more than £105 million before any punishment, which could include a points deduction.

This area is tricky as City have been found guilty by the CFCB of overstating their revenue — it is not clear whether, or by how much, City would have breached UEFA’s FFP “break-even requirement”, meaning that clubs cannot spend more than they earn. If it is established at CAS that City would have made big losses, it would be easier for the Premier League to act.

However, one hitherto overlooked element of this whole case is section J7 of the Premier League handbook, which covers “UEFA Club Licence Applicants”:

“Any club making a false statement (whether made verbally or in writing) in or in connection with an application for a UEFA Club Licence or falsifying a document produced in support of or in connection with such an application shall be in breach of these rules and shall be liable to be dealt with in accordance with the provisions of Section W of these rules.”

The article is by Sam Lee and Matt Slater which means it is written by Matt Slater who is the real snake here. I've said before I like lots of Sam's mainstream City articles but he doesn't know what he is talking about with regards FFP and he is incapable writing that article by himself.

How do we know UEFA haven’t seen our evidence? The impression I got from one of the club statements is that they had seen it but chose to ignore it.

Didn't we submit it just before the five year deadline which would have meant UEFA had very little time to consider our evidence? If UEFA had not acted promptly they would have run out of time. I thought that's what they meant in the statement when they suggested: "We had not co-operated with them."
If that is the case I don't blame City for waiting till the last minute to submit because at that stage confidential information was being leaked on a regular basis from the UEFA investigation to our commercial rivals and the media. The whole inquiry had been compromised and we knew our only chance was to go straight to CAS.
I think it is also relevant that by that time Al Khelaifi had taken a key role on the UEFA Exec. City knew Al Khelaifi (and the Qataris) were acting against us. Remember that Al Khelaifi has since been charged with corruption relating to the Qatar World Cup bid https://www.theguardian.com/footbal...ident-nasser-al-khelaifi-in-fifa-bribery-case.
Also don't forget that Rick Parry worked for the Qatar regime as a security consultant during their World Cup bid https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/f...verpool-chief-Rick-Parry-help-Qatar-2022.html and was one of a very small group of people on the UEFA investigations committee who investigated City's case. He left UEFA around the same time City submitted evidence.
