Must have read his bio about 15 yrs ago, and although broadly sympathertic to his politics, I clearly remember some of his stories of police victimisation didn't seem to ring quite true

We enjoyed the series with Ralf Little for what it was and I actually decided to read Ricky’s book as a result. National Front initially and changed later in life as already mentioned. What struck me most was how much shit he has been through in life (some of which no doubt was due to his own decisions/behaviour etc) Homeless, bankrupt, affairs, jail time twice, issues with his children which turned out to be very serious in two cases. He’s seen a done a fair bit.

i once went to a europa league game v sporting in lisbon and a friend of a friend from breck road described lisbon as a shithole- still laugh about it to this day.

That’s often why they turn to comedy. You need that broken moral compass to be an edgy comic. Some of his misdemeanours will be his own fault. Certain individuals are convinced they’re above the law.

I suppose Brexit was almost 50/50. Just like veganism or drugs, I don’t bother participating.
